OUR APPROACH

A curriculum, not a syllabus.

Our classical curriculum forms the whole child through the timeless pursuit of truth, goodness, and beauty. Rooted in the Catholic intellectual tradition, students journey from early discovery in Montessori to the wonder-filled grammar years and culminating in the questioning logic stage. Throughout our programs, students encounter Sacred Scripture, Latin, mathematics, history, the Great Books of Western Civilization, music, art and the natural sciences as an integrated whole rather than disconnected subjects.
Each year builds on the last, cultivating not only knowledge but virtue, reverence, and the habits of a well-ordered mind. Students learn to read carefully, reason clearly, and speak with confidence, while daily prayer and the sacraments shape hearts alongside minds. By eighth grade, our graduates leave prepared to think deeply, live faithfully, and thrive at high school.
THE THREE STAGES

AGES 3 – 6
The Ages of Discovery
The earliest years are spent in a prepared environment, where children move freely among carefully chosen materials. Order, attention, and reverence are formed.
Grammar

GRADES K – 5
The Ages of Wonder
The lower school is built on the foundations: phonics, penmanship, arithmetic, the catechism, and the memory work that will serve a student for life. Latin begins in Kindergarten.
Logic
Logic
GRADES 6 – 8
The Ages of Argument
The upper school turns to formal Socratic seminars, Algebra I, and Latin grammar. Students begin to ask why, and the school takes their questions seriously.

THE SCHOOL DAY

A day, as it is kept.

The Saint Charles Borromeo school day is ordered to the rhythms of work, prayer, and community meal — a rhythm older than any school of any kind.
