REQUIRED REGISTRATION & FORMS
Before the first practice
Athletic participation fees are billed directly per student, per sport through FACTS. All athletes must submit completed paperwork prior to the first practice — to the Athletics Director, the school office, or by email.
Medical Eligibility Form→
Physical exam or eligibility form signed by a physician, valid two years from the date signed. Submit medical forms directly to the front office.
Our program operates under the policies of the Catholic Diocese of Spokane, through the Catholic Grade School League (CGSL). For complete regulations, families are asked to review the Spokane Catholic School Athletics Handbook.
ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY
Students first
To participate in league play, student-athletes must maintain a minimum 75% (C) overall average and have no failing grades at midterm or quarter evaluations.
PROBATION
Students failing to meet the criteria may practice and attend games in support of the team, but cannot play in competitive matches.
REINSTATEMENT
Eligibility is restored once the student achieves a minimum 70% in the deficient course or reaches an overall 75% average, reviewed weekly. Quarter ends do not automatically reinstate eligibility.
APPEALS
Academic eligibility appeals may be submitted in writing directly to the Principal.
COACHING & VOLUNTEERING
Join our team
In the tradition of St. Charles Borromeo — who dedicated his life to teaching, guiding, and uplifting his community — our Athletics Program relies on dedicated mentors to help form the next generation of student-athletes. We are seeking Head Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Team Volunteers across all sports.
Head & assistant coaches
Lead practices, manage game-day strategy, teach fundamentals, and model Christian sportsmanship.
Team parents & coordinators
Assist coaches with team communications, scheduling, and game-day logistics.
Game-day support volunteers
Help with scorekeeping, timekeeping, admissions, and event setup and cleanup.
OUR COACHING MISSION
Coaching at St. Charles goes beyond the scoreboard. Our volunteer leaders are called to:
✦Mentor the Whole Person: Cultivate character, self-control, and resilience alongside athletic skill.
✦Promote Positive Discipline: Build teamwork and positive sportsmanship consistent with the moral code of our school community.
✦Lead by Example: Provide a supportive, Christ-centered atmosphere where every athlete can grow and succeed.
DIOCESAN COMPLIANCE
To ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes, coaches and active volunteers must complete the following before the season begins.
✦Diocese of Spokane Safe Environment training: Virtus certification and background check.
✦Coaching certifications: concussion awareness, first aid and CPR basics, and sudden cardiac arrest protocols.
✦Review and sign the Coaches Code of Conduct.
EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST
If you are ready to make a positive impact on our student-athletes, please submit your interest to the Athletic Director.
